EVOO Challenge x Progress

If you have not already, I advise you to check out the EVOO Challenge I started on Hairlista. Last night I did the whole braiding, GHE, thing you know - my usual regimen. I applied the EVOO to my scalp, and m&s with the EVOO. My hair sucked it all up. Hopefully the EVOO actually helps to thicken my hair.

I think my leave out is finally growing! I can braid it without it slipping out!!

My Summer Look

Wild Growth Oil x GHE

Let's just say I have been going in on the GHE lately. I had to GHE for two whole days straight without removing my shower cap. It wasn't planned or anything, and on top of that I have been using Wild Growth Oil and let me tell you. My hair smells DISGUSTING! I can't wait to co-wash in a few minutes. The smell is unbearable! I have also been using my own version of Valeries "hair potion" which has also contributed to the smelliness of my hair. Those three mixtures are DEADLY However, I am expecting to see a lot of growth when I do my length check June 20th for the Real Queens Summer 2012 Challenge. I've been holding off my length checks since April so it's going to be exciting to see my length retention.

My Summer 2012 Hair Regimen!

First off let me start by saying its been two months since I've been on this journey!

Moving along

I will be wearing big curly instant weaves with the exception of "London Girl by Freetress...I have to get it!".... so I can take care of my hair underneath of course.
Co-Washing EVERY SUNDAY instead of WASHING every Sunday. Shampoo strips away moisture from our hair, and our hair thrives off moisture...you do the math. I will be continuing the GHE and the EVOO Challenge. That's about all.

I WILL NOT BUY ANY MORE CONDITIONERS.

May Goals/Plans/Etc

Well, in two days I will already be 2 months into my healthy/natural hair journey. I have been wearing a u-part that I made with my Indian hair that I've had for about two years. I used a spandex cap and I secured it with bobby pins and half wig combs. I didn't really like how that worked but I was still able to GHE every night. Last night I redid it and made it into a side u-part and I used a weaving cap. I love it much better. I decided to sew it on this morning and I loved it even more! My only problem with that is, I won't be able to GHE at night because it's sewn on. So, I just cut the thread and now I'm letting my hair/scalp breathe. I figure I'll just sew it on in the morning before work and take it out at night. This way I can stay committed to my GHE which I adore.

Last Month was a bust. Though I managed to GHE every night. I wasn't keeping my hair moisturized, nor did I stick to my regimen. As I stated in my last post, I only washed about twice last month and I slapped oil on my braids before bed/the GHE. When I did my mini length check I noticed no progress and I got pissed off. So now, I'm starting back strong like I did when I first started. School and work kept me busy, but school is out so that means more time to care for my hair and more fun protective styles.

It's true that hair thrives off moisture because I moisturized and made sure my hair was dampened when I did the GHE at night the first month of my journey and I grew almost a full inch of hair! If I keep it up, I can PRAYER(fully) be BSB by December.

I'm currently doing my Olive Oil Challenge.
-EVOO on Scalp
-Seal with EVOO
-EVOO/CANTU/Water Mixture to keep hair moisturized before GHE

Hopefully, I can grow a full inch this month as well. We shall see!

I'm trying to fill in my edges and grow out my leave out! It's so short from bad home perms! I have lots of new growth though. Have not relaxed my leave out since December. That was the last time ever!

**MY HAIR DID GET THICKER THOUGH!

April Update

I have to be honest. Although I never forgot to GHE, I haven't been taking good enough care of my hair. I only washed about twice this month rather than once a week. Most nights I didn't seal my ends for the GHE. I did a semi-length check and I was not pleased. I won't beat myself up about it though because I've been focused on school and work. However, I'm going to get back on my hair "game. I'm really striving for full APL by December.
